VERSUS : NESTLE WHITE KIT KAT VS HERSHEY’S WHITE KIT KAT

I have a huge sweet tooth and at least once in a while white chocolate has to carry the burden of soothing my cravings. I love the condensed milk candy-ish flavour of white chocolate. I have had regular milk chocolate KIT KAT bars from both NESTLE and HERSHEY before. Thanks to www.americangoodies.co.uk I was finally able to get my hands on a few HERSHEY WHITE KIT KAT bars. Super excited about this opportunity right away I bought a NESTLE WHITE KIT KAT bar and decided to do a comparison video in the form of my series of VERSUS videos. While worldwide NESTLE makes and distributes KIT KAT bars, in the USA the production rights of KIT KAT belongs to HERSHEY. Living in Canada, I can’t find the HERSHEY KIT KAT bars in stores, so I have to resort to buying them online. First major and visible difference between the HERSHEY and NESTLE WHITE KIT KAT bars is in their logo and package designs. The fonts used for the logos, even though at first sight very similar, are in fact drastically different. The NESTLE wrapper has a nice metallic red portion on it and a mat very white other half. The HERSHEY wrapper, minus its colourful logo background, is just plain white and shiny. One interesting point is that the HERSHEY wrapper has “ CRISP WAFERS ’N CREME “ written on it. At first this doesn’t seem important at all, but you’ll see why its more important than you think, if you continue reading and watch the video. But you are not here to watch a video or read a blog post about the differences between the wrappers of these two KIT KAT bars, are you? So lets get into the bars themselves. They are both 4 finger bars. When put side by side there is a visible difference in the colours of the bars. The HERSHEY KIT KAT WHITE looks extremely white and in comparison the NESTLE KIT KAT WHITE looks a lot more cream coloured. The HERSHEY bar seems to be slightly longer and wider than its NESTLE counterpart. When turning both bars on their front and looking at the bottoms, the HERSHEY KIT KAT WHITE shows its wafers a lot where as the NESTLE KIT KAT WHITE does a better job at hiding its wafers on the bottom. They both have a lot of wafer in them. The HERSHEY wafers seem to be more brownish in colour. The wafers in both are very crunchy and satisfying and they seem to have a slight cocoa flavour to them !!?? Am I the only one that thinks that ? . The NESTLE WHITE KIT KAT gets the white chocolate flavour right on !! The HERSHEY WHITE KIT KAT on the other hand doesn’t taste much or at all like white chocolate !!! Instead the HERSHEY bar tastes more like sweet cream or sweet milk !!!!! . Maybe thats why the HERSHEY wrapper says “ CRISP WAFERS ’N CREME “ on it ? Is it even supposed to be white chocolate? I still like the HERSHEY bar cause i like milk with sugar cubes, and thats what the bar basically tastes like. But for it passing as a WHITE ( white chocolate ) KIT KAT ? NAH !! The WINNER in this case is NESTLE WHITE KIT KAT
